EVERFOUND
Four brothers, originally from Russia and growing up in Colorado, have become the judge’s choice to perform in the New Band Showcase at the 26th annual Cornerstone Music Festival on July 3rd. Fans voted for bands on the internet throughout April and May. The music industry panel then picked their choice from all the submissions to round out the schedule. Previous winners include Sixpence None The Richer and Columbia recording artists P.O.D.
Emigrating from Russia 12 years ago to find a better life in America, the boys began playing music at a young age. “We all start with the piano at age 6 and can move on to other instruments at 8” said lead singer Nikita. Ranging in age from 14 – 20 Everfound performed over 150 dates across the country in 2008 alone.
This is not just another cover band, they write their own music. “We want to renew a call to passion,” adds keyboard player Ruslan. “Life must be lived with purpose and excitement, otherwise you merely exist.”
Everfound accomplishes what few other bands today do – create music that lasts beyond the play button. The tunes will repeat in your head and the lyrics may become a soundtrack to your daily life.
Their third CD, “Colorful Alibis and Scandalous Smiles”, was released May 7th.
Everfound has been compared to bands like Coldplay and The Fray. But industry insiders say they are more than that. And with an underground buzz that is contagiously exciting, American teens are agreeing.

OLD MAN SHATTERED
Old Man Shattered, a band based in Albuquerque, New Mexico will be advocating the cause of “River’s Promise” as they hit the road on the BLUE TOUR featuring Story Side B & Manic Drive. River’s Promise helps provide for education & the other needs of orphans in Rwanda.
Jimmy Lakey, founder of River’s Promise said, “I have known David Meyers & Old Man Shattered for many years and am excited to have them on board with us as we work to give hope to orphans! The River’s Promise EP (“Our Love Can Change Things”) is now available, featuring Aaron Strumpel, Dave Wilton, Jason Roberson, & Kate Hurley singing songs that they specifically wrote for the cause of orphans.
All proceeds go to benefit “River’s Promise” in work to continue to send orphans in Rwanda to school, and even make sure they have a bed to sleep in rather than concrete floors.

Recently, we opened an envelope that contained a $10 bill and a hand-written note from young ZOE COX in Kansas! The note told us that the $10 was her very own & she wanted it to be used to help orphans in Africa by purchasing a mosquito net for the RIVER’S PROMISE “Buy A Bed” project! We are so thankful for Zoe and the help she gave to orphans in Africa.

Happy Birthday
December 4th is the birthday for River Matison Moise Lakey, the inspiration for “River’s Promise” and the adopted son of Jimmy & Carrie Lakey. While no one is sure if the date is exact, we know it was near the first of December 2004 since the umbilical cord scab was still in place when he was found abandoned in a drainage ditch during a rainstorm at 11:00pm. Happy 4th Birthday!
