Jimmy Lakey has been in the music and radio entertainment business for the past three decades. After adopting his son, River, from Rwanda, Africa in 2008, he started his non-profit, River’s Promise. River’s Promise provides education, food and housing to orphans and widows who are living in extreme poverty in Rwanda.
In 2023, River’s Promise opened their new school, Legacy Christian Academy, in one of the remote villages in Rwanda.
